"The food was absolutely delicious! Everything we had was very tasty and fresh. Our dishes came out as they were cooked. The soup and crispy Tofu Bao buns delicious. The staff is very attentive and friendly. The dessert trolley is very attractive … so many yummy treats to choose from. Loved the tiramisu, steamed custard buns, coconut jelly and Durian Mochi. It's a large space compared to many in the area. But needs good deep cleaning looked a bit outdated. The red big lanterns have tons of dust which is a big put off."

"First time back to Dragons since our last visit, a number of years ago, for Yum Cha today. Dragons staff and chefs are so consistent with the fabulous service and their impeccable dishes!! We can see why they’ve been voted “Best Yum Cha in Wellington” by far! Lucky New Year 2026."

"Food was great. The plates were a little uncleaned and saw the staff's finger poked into the small dish. I guess it makes it feel authentic."

"Retro spot for authentic and delicious Chinese food. Came for dinner on Mother’s Day and each dish was huge and so good. It was packed but yet service was on point. The server even helped us to pack up the food carefully, wrapping the container before shutting the lid and not allowing the chilli sauce to spill out in the car. If that’s not great service, I don’t know what is."

"We dined in a Yum cha setting at Dragons. The restaurant was busy as it was the first day of Chinese New Year. Food started coming to our table not long after we were seated. The quality of the food was excellent. On reflection, we should've said yes to a few more plates of vegetables to balance things out a bit, but that's completely on us. Atmosphere was great, and while it was busy, not overly loud. We could easily hear eachother in a crowded room. Great experience Thank you Dragons."

"Fantastic place for all day dim sum or yum cha or just a great meal. The restaurant is very large and though on the weekends bookings are advised, we went on a Tuesday night and it was quite empty. The food was delicious, the service great and the wine list of high quality. We had a great Riesling from Germany which paired perfectly with the meal. You must get the crispy skin pork. It is amazing. Also of note are the soup dumplings. Everything was of high quality and I love that they constantly fill up your tea without needing to ask. Highly recommended."
